Topic Proposal Revisited

چکیده
1) Problem characterization Adopt a design model such as Rosemblum and Wolf in order to understand the main dimensions of a pub/sub infrastructure and their dependencies. A model is a small scale representation of the actual system that can be used to test it, predicting its behavior through generalization. The model here is also generic and complete enough to represent the possible variations of systems of such kind. This model is composed of different design dimensions and their inter-dependencies. In other words, this model characterizes the pub/sub problem in terms of its variability, and the influence of one dimension in another.

Memo to : Coneval Memo from : Sabina Alkire
We understand that the Committee may be contemplating a methodology for multidimensional poverty measurement based on the general approach we proposed in a recent paper (Alkire and Foster, 2007). While there is some broad agreement on the aggregation method – in particular, the adjusted headcount M0 is a natural pick since it satisfies dimensional monotonicity and can be decomposed across dimen...
متن کاملThe Right Frontier Constraint Holds Unconditionally
The paper re-opens the controversial case of the right frontier constraint. A formal proof of its applicability in models that use certain types of trees as modalities to represent the structure of discourse is given. Then its violation, reported to occur in discourses “under pressure”, is revisited and a proposal for discourse structure representation that deviates from classical trees is made.
متن کاملRight Association Revisited
Considerations of when Right Association works and when it fails lead to a restatement of this parsing principle in terms of the notion of heaviness. A computational investigation of a syntactically annotated corpus provides evidence for this proposal and suggests circumstances when RA is likely to make correct attachment predictions.
متن کاملAC-KBO Revisited
We consider various definitions of AC-compatible KnuthBendix orders. The orders of Steinbach and of Korovin and Voronkov are revisited. The former is enhanced to a more powerful AC-compatible order and we modify the latter to amend its lack of monotonicity on non-ground terms. We further present new complexity results. An extension reflecting the recent proposal of subterm coefficients in stand...
متن کاملPersuade him by email, but see her in person: Online persuasion revisited
This study replicated and expanded on earlier research on gender differences in the evaluation of computer-mediated persuasive messages. Participants discussed a counter-attitudinal topic with a same-gender confederate. Those participants made to feel a sense of shared identity (high oneness) with the communicator were the most favorable toward the proposal whereas those participants made to fe...
